The Ancient and Wise Goddess of Winter
Picture taken from a site named http://cailleach-daw.blogspot.com
Yuletide brings the Blessings of the Cailleach to our Lands. Known as the Ancient One, She brings the winter's heart to the Land. Covering the Land in snow and ice and the biting winds that rip through the Air. Her wisdom is the greatest of all the aspects of the Goddess, as She has known all aspects in Her long life. She can emphasize with Maiden, Mother and Crone alike.
Her heart is strong and Her mind alert. She know not of pain nor hurt. She brings true peace to all She meet, in the country or in the street.
The Raven is a bird of great knowledge and brings protection of the Spirit world. Something the Cailleach would need to learn as Her friends begin to pass on to the Otherworld. They also protect the Sacred Sites, one of which is the Callanish Stones in Scotland aligned to the Winter Solstice sunrise. People gather here still at Yule to celebrate the return of the Sun Lord on Solstice morning at dawn! The birth of the Sun Child is heralded by this great dawn!
This teaching of Yule is an aspect of the Cailleach's Dark Mother aspect. The Dark Mother goes deep within her heart and soul to bring forth the Light of Her child, who brings geat new hope for humanity! This is very much linked to the Bible's tales of Lord Jesus Christ born at this time of year!

The dark Mother as She ventures within at this time of year. In Her slumber of the Eve She dreams a new light of the Sun Child reaching the Earth to bring peace, love and harmony.
Here you can also see the Spirit of the Hare in the Heavens an aspect of the Lord Green Man at Winter Solstice. He brings new Light and hope and shines at dawn with His Sun Child.
Wishing you All peace and Goodwill this season!
May the Cailleach bring blessings of new hope into your lives and may the Lord Green Man renew your strength this wintertime!
Blessed be!
